I know that most of you will be out on a Saturday night but I will alert you to a great film that is showing on TV 1 this weekend at 8.30. In My Father’s Den is a very affecting, atmospheric version of Maurice Gee’s novel of the same name. Paul (Matthew Macfadyen-Mr Darcy in the film of Pride and Prejudice) returns from the UK to attend his father’s funeral. Paul is a world-weary war photographer who is reluctant to get sucked back into small town life. However, things get complicated when he becomes involved with teenager Celia (great performance from Emily Barclay). Highly recommended.
