Another interesting comment from the Scholarship Assessment Report – does it ring a bell?
The best candidates wrote confidently and responsively. The very best answers demonstrated an honest reworking of studied materials in response to the niceties of the question or statement. Too many candidates, however, merely reworked an NCEA level 3 response written for a different topic – and “tacked on” a new introduction and conclusion. Too often, these sorts of answers were filled with detail at the expense of argument and lacked genre-question consideration.
