Intimidating women in Cuckoo’s Nest

One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest” is a captivating book because it illustrates the Society of the 60’s or 70’s more or less mirrors the society of 2008. Even though One Flew over the Cuckoos Nest is about a power struggles between an insane asylum and its patients, psychologically, there are few, if any, differences in how those operating on the periphery of the law are controlled in the greater society. Over the years, Nurse Ratched has come to represent the fearsome government, reigning supreme while it gains power and control of the masses through various forms of coercion and intimidation.
