“They used to say that a child conceived in love has a greater chance of happiness. They don’t say that anymore.”

One of the most popular texts used as part of the research assessment was the 1997 film Gattaca, directed by Andrew Niccol. It is a film worthy of further study and reflection, particularly for those students who enjoyed the dystopian texts we looked at in class. The film was not particularly successful on its release but it is considered one of the best science fiction films ever produced by a number of reviewers. There are a great deal of excellent resources on the internet about Gattaca and I have added a few of them below.
