How good is “One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest”?

Kesey said “my book is good, and has as much integrity as I am able to muster without losing my ability to laugh, and if you’ve hit the one solid punch dead centre they can never take that away from you.”

Where the “punch” scores is self-reliance usually accompanied by optimism – the weak can become strong, the cowardly brave and the impotent potent.
